Summer Sangria

Summer Sangria

Summer is finally turning around in Vancouver. It’s sunny, the fresh fruit stands are out, & there’s nothing I want to do more than have a drink by the pool…more specifically, sangria. Yes, even though it was over two years ago, I am still dreaming about that white wine sangria I had on a rooftop in Barcelona. So, I thought I would make my own.

After a little research, I decided to use this recipe, which I found on this blog.

We started out with a variety of fresh, local fruit that we bought at our favourite stand just down the street. We decided to go with nectarines, peaches, plums & of course lemons & limes. I also thought we needed some berries, so I picked some wild ones from the bushes at the top of our driveway.

IMG_8410Sangria isn’t all fruit though you know…it’s also 1/4 cup triple sec, 1/2 cup of brandy & a whole bottle of wine.

After your pitcher cools off in the fridge, garnish your glasses with some fresh mint, a lime wedge & lots of ice.
